A 20 year veteran of the surety and construction risk management business, Michael A Kenny, has successfully put together numerous off-site surety programs for contractors and businesses.
Mike has experience working in several markets in Western States including the Washington and Northern California and Southern California.
Mike Kenny founded Shamrock Surety Services in April 2006 to fulfill his vision of creating a leading edge surety brokerage grounded in the 21st century with improvements in client toolset.
Underwriting Side of Business
In the early years of his career, Mr. Kenny was privileged to work for two of the nation’s largest and most respected surety companies: Reliance Surety Company and St Paul Surety at their offices located in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Orange County.
Mr. Kenny’s area of responsibility on the company side included Home Office Underwriter, Account Manager, Computer Network Administrator and Underwriting Supervisor.
The niche market for these sureties was mid- to large-size contractors and developers where Mr. Kenny specialized in putting together large complex deals including developer and subdivision accounts.
Broker Side of Business
More recently, Mr. Kenny was employed at the Bay Area Offices of Allied North America (now Aon Corp) and Thoits Insurance where he served in the capacity of Assistant Vice President and Vice President of Construction.
Mr. Kenny enjoyed continued success as a broker in putting together a number of surety programs for contractors where considerable persistence and detailed underwriting analysis won out.
Mr. Kenny’s varied expertise in financial analysis, underwriting, information technology and marketing make up a skill set assured to lead Shamrock Bonding Services Insurance Brokerage, Inc. through 21st century.
Mr. Kenny earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with Emphasis in Finance from San Diego State University in 1989. He is a Licensed Insurance Broker in the State of California and grew up in Sacramento.
